songs of the week- 29.07.2013

Hey guys, another week and more single releases and album releases. I also today had great news from itunes that i got tickets to go see elton john and Tom Odell in september i am so excited to see such a legend as elton and such a promising rising star as Tom. This weeks songs are;
ellie goulding - you my everything - From her re-release of halcyon called halcyon days which is due out on august 26. The song continues on well from the halcyon album but is more upbeat and dancey that the album and looking at the people she has worked with for the re release i would say this is going to be like a majority of the songs. After listening to this and burn i way prefer this song as i feel burn is way to robotic in the chorus and it really takes away from the song.

nina nesbitt - way in the world.

basement jaxx - what a difference your love makes.

alunageorge - your drums, your love.
- will be posting about there album sometime this week hopefully.

london grammer - strong.

“I’ve come to the conclusion that people who wear headphones while they walk, are much happier, more confident, and more beautiful individuals than someone making the solitary drudge to work without acknowledging their own interests and power.”

graduation is here

No longer a student, no longer getting student loans, an adult (hiss) and really tired. Graduation was  surprising really good and am so glad that i actually did it, i was nervous about walking on stage . The whole day before i was really nervous and couldn't quite understand why i had to wear a suit and then a gown when it was 31 degrees outside. It was completely uncomfortable but so worth it. I was in the second half of my school and was gutted that charlotte wasn't in my section but i was able to watch hers before i went to mine and we had a photo, below, which i don't really like as my sister got a really weird angle. Charlotte should have some photos of graduation on her blog soon. It was really nice spending the day with my family, it was them who had supported me and kind of pushed me, gently, into going to university. It was really strange seeing my mum and sister cry but it was happy tears so it was okay but it was really overwhelming that i had made them so happy and proud and that feels really good. The whole day was quiet nostalgic for me and although at times university has been really overwhelming for me i feel that without university i wouldn't be the person i am now and i'm actually starting to like myself a bit more these days. So to everyone thinking of going to university my advice is- GO!!!!! p,s my sisters photography skills are not good so some of the photos are a bit poo.

The heatwave

The sun is staying forever... well not that long properly but lets not wish the sun away when during the rest of the year were so quick to wish for it. British people love stating/moaning about the weather . I'm really enjoying the temperature i like having seasons and i know during winter when i'm freezing i will be longing for the sun. Also i like having a sun tan even though i'm quite pale and mostly burn, after the burn i go a nice colour. However i am not looking forward to graduating in a suit in this weather its going to be sweaty. Theres no way to make it sound sexy, i'm a sweaty person, i have dealt with that. So for all of summer i try to avoid grey and yes i use deodorant but it doesn't work. Well works for like twenty minutes then a gush of sweat trickles onto my t-shirt, not a pretty site i know. So to conclude - sun=good sweat =bad.
Also i've been shopping again and bought some more T-shirts, i'm a real tshirt whore. i should proper dip my toe into other clothing adventures but i don't feel like buying other items of clothing, its very strange.
river island - sale - 10 pound

primark- 5 pound

songs of the week- 15.07.2013

New music day!!! Although only singles this week as there are no new albums out that i am at all interested in, i'm not a robin thicke fan at all.Not all of the songs are out yet though but you can still listen to them on youtube. What people did before youtube is beyond me.  Here are some of my songs this week.
vv brown - samson

mks - flatline.

justin timberlake- take back the night

avril lavigne - heres to never growing up

avicil - wake me up
Will i am and leah mcfall- bang bang
I didn't watch the season of the voice so i wasn't really familiar with any of the contesters on the show but this was suggested to me on youtube and after watch some of the other videos of leah mcfall i am eager awaiting music from this extremely talented, vocally, young lady. I do also think she was robbed and that she should have won.

ellie goulding -burn. I'm a huge Ellie Goulding fan and am loving here new song its a lot more like i need your love than any other song on Halycon and with the recently announced Halycon days is something to look forward to.

brick lane - 14.07.2013

Sun, food and music. They go so well together and where else to go but brick lane. There was some amazing foods and clothes in the sunday upmarket as well as the backyard market. I didn't put all my photos up as there are tons but put a choice few up, there are still loads tho. Me and charlotte had baklava, spinach feta chicken wraps and had tasters of a few other things. The food there was okay but the baklava was amazing. There was the most nostalgia tshirt ever - the hungry caterpillar. A book that almost everychild must have had as a child. I had a great sunday tho even thought at times i was a bit moody, i'm trying to give up/ restrict my amount of sugar/sweets/chocolate/cake, it's getting quiet hard but i manly feel bad for charlotte as she has to take the brunt of my excessive mood swings. Although she is being lovely and basically has become my personal chef and nutritionist which i love. I'm really getting use to living in london and not being a student, its actually really nice being her in the summer as well and all though i am missing my family its something that i feel i have to do.
Also the news about Cory Monteith is so sad. I feel truly sad for lea Michele it's just a devastating situation for any person in lea's and his families situation.

I love cobbled streets although i hear that there not great if you have heels.(charlotte)
